WWE has previously collaborated with other promotions such as ECW, OVW, NJPW, UK companies, and, most recently, All Japan Pro Wrestling.
Last week, AJPW released a social media video of President Tsuyoki Fukud in a luxurious hotel room surrounded by women, where he received a call from a WWE representative. He stated that AJPW is interested in booking one of NXT’s stars to challenge for the Triple Crown title at the New Year Giant Series 2024 on January 3.
Katsuhiko Nakajima defends his title against Kento Miyahara at the AJPW event on December 31. Charlie Dempsey was later revealed to be that NXT star.
Shinsuke Nakamura was previously sent by WWE to Pro Wrestling Noah to work a match with The Great Muta as part of his retirement tour. It appears that they will be working with Stardom in the near future.
“Besides the new deal working with All Japan, WWE has also expressed interest in working with Stardom. Nothing is finalized that we know of regarding that but WWE is confirmed interested,” Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
It should be noted that Stardom and NJPW are both owned by Bushi Road.
