WWE NXT returns tonight, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, live on The CW from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
The 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will officially get underway, and WWE has now announced the tournament’s opening match.
Los Americanos (Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano) will take on Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno in first-round action.
WWE hyped the tournament opener on social media, writing: “Who do you got when Los Americanos and the team of @NoamDar & @Itsbbyromeo battle it out to kick off the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic TONIGHT on #WWENXT?!”
WWE revealed the full 14-team field for this year’s Dusty Classic over the weekend, with the tournament set to follow a single-elimination format.
NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project and AAA World Tag Team Champions El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno received first-round byes and will enter the tournament in the second round.
As of this writing, no other first-round matches have been officially announced.
Elsewhere on tonight’s NXT, La Catalina will team with Thea Hail to face Kelani Jordan and Zaria in women’s tag team action.
A six-man tag team match is also scheduled, with Zilla Fatu, Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux joining forces against Birth Right’s Lexis King, Channing Lorenzo and Uriah Connors.
