WWE NXT Results – August 13, 2024

Tonight on NXT – Chase U challenges Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Titles, Tony D’Angelo defends his NXT Heritage Cup against Charlie Dempsey, Eddy Thorpe takes on Lexis King, Alpha Academy’s Otis responds to Oba Femi’s open challenge, and Wes Lee speaks out after betraying the Rascalz plus more!

Tonight on NXT – Chase U challenges Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Titles, Tony D’Angelo defends his NXT Heritage Cup against Charlie Dempsey, Eddy Thorpe takes on Lexis King, Alpha Academy’s Otis responds to Oba Femi’s open challenge, and Wes Lee speaks out after betraying the Rascalz plus more!

We start the show with a recap of the Great American Bash.

Wes Lee makes his way backstage. Sarah Schreiber stops him and questions his actions from last week and he walks off. Ethan Page comes by, grabs the mic and opens the show and makes his way to the ring. In the ring, Page says he knows the NXT universe wanted him to lose but we all found out that whatever Page says, happens. He has every right to call himself “All Ego” and the Era of Ego has begun. He calls out members of the NXT roster and says this is not NXT, but it’s NXMe. Joe Hendry comes out and tells Page he apologizes for the interruption but you no longer need to see his name and he will now just appear. He validates Page’s claim of being at the top. He says Page was the talk of WWE until he appeared and closed the show. Page says he doesn’t need to hear Hendry out and that he should go back to TNA – Page says he doesn’t know why Hendry is even here anymore. Hendry says it’s because he wants to be champ. Page says apparently everyone believes in Joe Hendry but Page doesn’t. What he does believe is that Hendry’s song makes him sick, he also believes Hendry is on his 14th minute of his 15 mins of fame, and he believes if Hendry challenges him he will expose Hendry as the flash in the pan talent that he is. Hendry says he’s paid his dues and that the higher ups believe in him and vows to take the NXT belt from Page. He busts into song and Page goes bonkers and leaves.

Wes Lee comes out of nowhere and takes out Joe Hendry and he stares down Ethan Page.

Charlie Dempsey is warming backstage and Wren Sinclair comes in and talks about his match.

Backstage Ava is with the stacked women’s division. Ava announces a No Mercy Gauntlet Eliminator Match to determine Roxanne Perez’s challenger. The first three selections are Wren Sinclair, Adrianna Rizzo and Sol Ruca.

Match 1: Tony D’Angelo(c) -vs- Charlie Dempsey – Heritage Cup Match

Both contenders are in the ring with their stables. The match starts with D’Angelo spearing Dempsey and then taking him down again. The men go back and forth until D’Angelo gets Dempsey down. D’Angelo does some mat takedowns and the men trade submission holds. Dempsey has D’Angelo down in an arm lock submission but D’Angelo overpowers and throws Dempsey down. D’Angelo attempts a spinebuster but Dempsey counters into a sleeper type hold. In the corner, D’Angelo is taking it to Dempsey. Submission hold armbar like maneuver on D’Angelo by Dempsey, into a roll up two count. D’Angelo throws Dempsey down and the bell rings for round one.

Round two starts with D’Angelo alligator rolling Dempsey and into a pin but the ropes break it up. Dempsey takes down D’Angelo who leap frogs over Dempsey but gets rolled into a two count. D’Angelo hits Fugeddaboudit for pin and wins round two.

The men trade rolls up and go back and forth as we come back from commercial. The third round ends but Dempsey gets a cheap kick on D’Angelo after the bell.

Next round starts with a quick two count roll up by D’Angelo. Dempsey gets D’Angelo in the corner and smothers him with kicks and chops. D’Angelo explodes out of the corner with a clothesline and lays some punches onto Dempsey. D’Angelo hits a couple belly to belly suplexes and hits a running powerslam for a two count. Dempsey gets and inside cradle for a two count. D’Angelo hits a floating suplex and then men trade holds. Dempsey does a bridge counter for the three. 1-1 each as we head into the last round.

D’Angelo out with punches and the men trade punches. Dempsey takes down D’Angelo for two near pinfalls. D’Angelo hits a spinebuster for a two count. Dempsey hits a northern lights suplex for a two count. Dempsey locks D’Angelo in a submission and D’Angelo power out and hits a powerbomb. D’Angelo sits Dempsey on the top rope, Myles Borne tries to interfere, but is foiled by D’Angelo Family. Wren Sinclair interferes and Dempsey is able to get the win.

Winner: NEW HERITAGE CUP CHAMPION Charlie Dempsey

Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice talk backstage and Vice approaches Tatum Paxley. Paxley is pissed she has no friends and didn’t get everything handed to her. She walks off and Vice is pissed.

We come back from commercial break to our next match.

Match 2: Lexis King -vs- Eddy Thorpe

King attacks Thorpe as he makes his way to the ring. The bell rings and Thorpe gains power and beats King around the ring until he hits King with his injured right hand. King capitalizes and works on Thorpe’s hand. King has Thorpe on the ground and hangs him up on the ropes. In the corner King chokes out Thorpe. Thorpe fights back and hits a big back drop. Thorpe with some chops but gets caught up in the ropes. King pounds down Thorpe but is knocked down by Thorpe. Thorpe hits some kick combos and hits an elbow on King. Thorpe attempts to take King down but he counters and hits The Coronation for the three count.

Winner: Lexis King

We get a Trick Williams promo calling out Pete Dunne. We cut backstage and see Pete Dunne watching the promo. He doesn’t think Trick deserves a rematch. He says he is moving forward to the championship. Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx, and Jacy Jayne are talking smack to Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson as Dunne walks away.

Match 3: Lola Vice -vs- Tatum Paxley

Vice is out first, followed by Paxley. Kelani Jordan is on commentary with her belt. The bell rings and the women lock up. Vice gets Paxley down and they roll around with roll ups. Vice is slammed into the turnbuckle and then kicked in the face for a two count. Paxley clamps Vice in a hold and Vice comes back with a powerslam. Vice slams her butt into Paxley’s face and goes for a pin, two count. Back on their feet Paxley takes control and kicks Vice’s face. Paxley gets Vice in a leg submission. Wendy Choo comes out of nowhere and attacks Jordan, distracting the competitors. Paxley beats on Vice but Vice connects with a hit on Paxley’s face for the three count.

Winner: Lola Vice

Backstage, Ava pulls the final three girls for the gauntlet match, and they are: Jaida Parker, Kendall Grey, and Karmen Petrovic. The other ladies are pissed, but Brinley Reece is happy for Petrovic and they talk about being in NXT for two years. Izzy Dame comes by and says she can’t stand them.

Wes Lee walks backstage and we cut to commercial.

Back on NXT, Wes Lee makes his way to the ring. Lee says he gets it… he shocked the world and he shocked himself. He believed they would win last week but Wentz let him down again. He goes back two years ago when Wentz let him down the first time. MSK was dead because of Wentz and they felt sad for Wentz but doubted him. He busted his ass and made his name in NXT. He says while he did that they went to TNA and killed it while he broke his back being a star in NXT. He achieved greatness when they didn’t and Lee is done being a caretaker. Lee did everything when he was in The Rascalz and he’s tired of taking care of them. He can’t have his best friends riding his coattails with where he’s going. He says when they meet in the ring he will show Wentz no mercy. He says Miguel and Wentz can go back to TNA when all this done while he makes his mark in WWE. He says on behalf of WWE star Wes Lee, he wishes them the best in their future endeavours. Pete Dunne’s music hits and Dunne comes out and says he’s impressed. He says he beat Williams last week so his eyes are set on the title. Joe Hendry’s music hits and he attacks Lee. Dunne joins in on this beating and all three men get separated by officials.

Axiom and Nathan Frazer are interviewed backstage. They say them being on wrong pages is a thing of the past. They say they’re locked in.

The D’Angelo talk about losing the Heritage Cup, Oba Femi walks in and says he wants and answer from Otis.

Backstage Chase U is warming up for their match. Duke says it doesn’t matter who wins because if one of them wins, they all win. Holland says his intentions are pure and he feels they’re all behind him. He says he’ll do whatever it takes to win.

Match 4 – North American Championship Match: Oba Femi(c) -vs- Otis w/Alpha Academy

Oba Femi is out followed by Otis w/Tozawa and Maxxine. The bell rings and the men lock up. Power -vs- Power and the men break the hold and lock up again. Femi pushes Otis who pushes Femi back. Femi with a kick and headlock on Otis. Otis tries to power out – Femi tries to take down Otis who blocks it. The men collide with eachother until Otis fires at Femi sending him to the outside. We cut to commercial.

Back from commercial, Femi has Otis down on the mat in a chokehold. Otis is trying to fight out of the hold and works his way to his feed and squishes Femi in the corner. Sidewalk slam on Femi by Otis for a two count. Femi rolls to the outside and chops Otis hard on the apron. Femi comes running at Otis and takes him out against the steel steps. Otis is laid out, outside and Femi goes after him and throws him into the ring for a two count. Femi hits a few elbows into another cover for a two count again. Femi charges at Otis three times into the corner for another near fall. Femi now sets up for a powerbomb but Otis counters with a back body drop. Otis clubs Femi with some punches and tries to capitalize in the corner but Femi breaks free and sends Otis out of the ring. Femi follows Otis out and takes out Tozawa and Otis gets up all angry. He takes down Femi and sends him into the ring. Otis delivers some backhand elbows and gets Femi on the mat. Otis slams Femi and sets up for the caterpillar and covers for a two count. Otis hits mid rope splash for a two count. Otis mounts Femi in the corner but Femi counters and hits a powerbomb for the win.

Winner: Oba Femi(c)

Brooks Jensen cuts a promo about being rejected. Edris and Malik talk backstge about Brooks. Hank and Tank come in and talk about having a match next week.

Match 5: Izzi Dame -vs- Brinley Reece

Dame is in the ring and Reece makes her way to the ring. Both women were in the same training class and have had issues with eachother. The lock up and Dame gets Reece on the ground but she fires back with some armholds. Reece connects with a huge clothesline for a two count. Reece has Dame in an armlock and tries a schoolgirl pin. Dame is able to take control and hits a tiltawhirl back breaker. Dame has Reece down in the corner and heads a sideslam for a two count. Dame clobbers Reece in the corner – Reece tries to fight back but walks into a sitting powerbomb for a two count. Dame is getting frustrated and sets Reece into a backbreaker. Reece counters out and kicks Dame in the face. She hits a high cross body on Dame and slams into her and gets on top with some punches. Dame knees Reece but Reece gets Dame in a delayed northern for a two count. Reece hoists up Dame who powers back but is taken down again by Reece. Reece tries a a flipping combo but is stopped and Dame hits a backbreaker slam for the win.

Winner: Izzi Dame

Jackie Redmond is backstage with Ava. Ava talks about the gauntlet match, and a triple threat with Joe Hendry -vs- Pete Dunne -vs- Wes Lee. Roxanne comes in and says no one is on her level. But they’ll be waiting a long time to get on that level.

Match 6: NXT Tag Title Match – Axiom & Nathan Frazer(c) -vs- Chase U (Andre Chase & Ridge Holland)

Holland and Chase are out first with their entourage. Axiom and Nathan Frazer are out next. The bell rings and Axiom and Chase start the match. Axiom gets Chase down and they swing into the ropes. Chase nails Axiom and gets a two count. Axiom kicks Chase and tags in Frazer. Frazer and Chase run around the ring with Frazer getting the better of the two. Holland tags in and tries to over power Frazer. Axiom is tagged in and they get Ridge to the outside. Axiom and Frazer double team Chase and send him outside and both deliver suicide dives to the Chase U opponents.

Back in the ring, Frazer tries to take out Chase. Both men are down, and are rallying to make the tag. Both men tag out and Holland powers down Axiom and then takes out Frazer. Holland throws Axiom in the air for a sailing DDT and a two count. Axiom connects with some kicks in the corner and tags in Frazer and they hit a senton and 450 splash for a two count. Double team on Holland who takes out both competitors one by one. Chase is tagged in and they double team Axiom for a two count. Frazer throws himself out of the ring onto Holland. Axiom counters a pinning attempt by Chase and Axiom tags in Frazer. Axiom almost kicks Frazer agai like last week. Axiom takes out Holland, and Chase gets double teams for a two count. Kicks from Axiom to Chase but Chase gets up and chops Axiom. Frazer tags in as does Holland who delivers a powerbomb coupled with a backstabber by Chase for a two count. Frazer kicks Holland and Axiom tags in. They double team Holland and Axiom hits a spanish fly but Chase comes in and twarts Frazers attempt at a 450. Holland takes out Axiom and gets the three count.

Winners: NEW NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS Andre Chase and Ridge Holland

All of Chase U celebrate in the ring and the show comes to and end.
