WWE confirmed the blockbuster match with the release of a new promotional image featuring the two legends face-to-face, accompanied by the tagline “One Last Time.” The bout is being billed as the final chapter in one of WWE’s most storied rivalries.
Cena and Orton have clashed 58 times on WWE television, including 19 one-on-one matches, making this one of the most frequent and iconic rivalries in WWE history. Their most recent televised encounter took place at Survivor Series 2017.
WWE Backlash 2025 is set to take place on Saturday, May 10th, from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri — Orton’s hometown — adding another layer of intensity to the high-stakes championship showdown.
