WWE has officially announced the matches for the upcoming tournament that will determine Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship challenger for the September 14 edition of Raw in Mexico City.

Rey Mysterio previously announced that the tournament would feature luchadores representing Raw, SmackDown and AAA, with the winner receiving the opportunity to challenge Reigns at Arena CDMX.

The tournament will begin on the August 10 edition of Raw with Penta facing Laredo Kid.

The next match will take place at an AAA event on August 15, where Psycho Clown will face La Parka.

Two additional tournament matches are scheduled for the August 17 edition of Raw. Dragon Lee will take on El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., while Rey Fenix will face El Fiscal.

One notable omission from the tournament is El Grande Americano. Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com previously reported that Americano was the rumored opponent for Reigns in Mexico City, while stressing that the plan was unconfirmed and not locked in.

Dominik Mysterio is also absent from the tournament.

The eight announced competitors are therefore Penta, Laredo Kid, Psycho Clown, La Parka, Dragon Lee, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Fenix and El Fiscal.

WWE has yet to announce how the winners of the four opening-round matches will progress through the remainder of the tournament or when the semifinals and final will take place.

Whoever emerges victorious will challenge Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship when Raw emanates from Mexico City on September 14.
