WWE Raw superstar Kiana James is reportedly close to making her return to the ring, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. James has been out of action since June 2024 due to a significant leg injury that required surgery and a lengthy rehab process.
Her last match came on the June 17, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, where she competed in a Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match against IYO SKY and Zelina Vega. Not long after, she sustained the injury that put her career on hold for nearly a year.
The timing of the injury was especially unfortunate, as James had just been drafted to Raw from NXT that April. She had quickly made an impression on the main roster, including a victory over Natalya in her Raw debut. Her momentum, however, was abruptly halted.
By September 2024, James had been moved to WWE’s internal miscellaneous roster, a designation used for sidelined talent. At the time, her recovery was estimated to take a minimum of six months.
Now, with the one-year mark approaching, it appears James is on the verge of stepping back into the spotlight.
