WWE star Big E recently appeared on an episode of the Sarah OโConnell Show, where he talked about a number of topics including the challenges of competing in front of no fans during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Big E said, โ[The atmosphere was] very weird. Really the foundation of our industry, of our business, is really about crowd interaction. You can have an hour match, but if no one is making a sound, if theyโre sitting on their hands, you failed. Thatโs always what we have been taught as pro wrestlers.
โItโs about engaging the crowd, itโs about making them cheer. Itโs about making them boo. Now, weโre in this environment where thatโs not possible. We just have screens in front of us, and now youโre also worried about COVID, which is ravaging the world. It was a very interesting time.โ
