Bryan Danielson may not be cleared for a full-time in-ring return just yet, but new reports confirm that AEW has creative plans in place for the “American Dragon” when the time is right.
According to Fightful Select, Danielson, who is currently sidelined due to neck issues, remains heavily involved with AEW as a creative consultant. The company has been subtly planting seeds for his eventual comeback, including having Wheeler YUTA of the Blackpool Combat Club adopt several of Danielson’s signature moves in recent matches.
AEW has been careful to only frame his final 2024 match as the end of his “full-time” career, never officially closing the door on future in-ring action.
That door opened a crack recently at the ROH Global Wars taping in Mexico City, where Danielson made a surprise appearance. After the show, he hit the ring to make the save for lucha legend Blue Panther, delivering his signature Busaiku Knee in a moment that sent the crowd into a frenzy.
While no official timeline for his return has been announced, fans and insiders alike are keeping a close eye on what could be a major comeback storyline down the line.
