Netflix’s “WWE: Unreal” Docuseries Debuting July 29

Netflix has officially unveiled its upcoming five-episode docuseries titled “WWE: Unreal,” promising fans an unprecedented look behind the scenes of WWE’s creative process. The series will premiere globally on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, and will mark the first time cameras have been allowed inside the WWE writer’s room, offering a rare perspective on how storylines are crafted and how the real-life drama unfolds outside the ring.

The logline for the series teases a compelling and layered narrative: “For the first time ever, step into the WWE writer’s room and outside the ring with your favorite WWE Superstars, where the drama is just as intense offstage as it is under the spotlight.”

“WWE: Unreal” comes from an all-star production team including Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, NFL Films, Skydance Sports, and WWE itself. The series is directed by Chris Weaver and led by showrunner Erik Powers, both known for their work on high-profile sports and entertainment documentaries.

The announcement further cements the deepening partnership between WWE and Netflix, which officially began in January 2025 when Monday Night Raw moved exclusively to the streaming giant in the U.S. and several international markets. In addition to Raw, the multi-year agreement includes international distribution rights for SmackDown, NXT, and all premium live events, making Netflix the new home of WWE for millions of fans worldwide.

“WWE: Unreal” is expected to offer a unique blend of real-time storytelling, character development, and internal creative tension, giving fans new insight into how some of the company’s biggest moments are made.
