The return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic was announced by NXT General Manager Robert Stone during this past Tuesday’s NXT episode. The Creed Brothers, Julius Creed and Brutus Creed, were revealed as one of the participating teams. This 14-team, single-elimination tournament will feature teams from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, EVOLVE, and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, and is set to begin this Tuesday on NXT. However, the specific matches for this week’s show have not yet been announced.
As previously reported by PWMania.com, WWE NXT took to its Twitter (X) account to announce six additional teams for the upcoming tournament. These teams include Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom), Los Americanos (Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano), AAA’s Mini Vikingo and EVOLVE’s Chaz “Starboy” Hall, BirthRight (Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Uriah Connors), DarkState (Cutler James and Osiris Griffin), and “Supernova 11” Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno.
The remaining teams for the tournament have now been revealed. NXT’s official Twitter (X) account announced that the additional teams are AAA’s The Tokyo Bad Boys (Kento and Takuma), “Super Sean” Legacy and Dorian Van Dux, Harley Riggins and Jax Presley, EVOLVE’s Shido Ash and Viktor Zanov, and Hank & Tank (Hank Walker and Tank Ledger).
This announcement follows reports that Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes of The Vanity Project, along with The Wagner Brothers (Galeno and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.), have automatically qualified for the tournament’s quarterfinals as NXT and AAA World Tag Team Champions, respectively.
