WWE Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable spoke on Complex Graps about capturing the coveted Intercontinental Championship from Penta in front of his hometown fans and family in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
Gable said, “I mean, it’s almost hard to put into words, like, how crazy it is that it worked out that way. That SummerSlam this year, just a couple of months after this Mask match, where I got some of my momentum, just happened to be in my hometown. I don’t know, man, things are meant to be a certain way. So, things turned out this way, I think; it was always meant to be. The highs, the lows that led us there, they were there for a reason, and I got to see why personally, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Not only did I get to have my family there, but also just friends and relatives from my past. All these people- it was just a special night, man.”
