As PWMania.com previously reported, former AEW star Brian Pillman Jr. was training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando on Thursday, just two days after being released from AEW due to his contract expiring.
In an update, Fightful Select reports that WWE officials were immediately interested in signing Pillman after his AEW contract expired.
While Pillman’s visit to the WWE Performance Center sparked a lot of rumors and speculation about his future, he is still a free agent, at least for the time being. WWE sources confirmed that Pillman has not signed a contract as of yet, but he was working out at the WWE facility. This was described as Pillman holding a “get to know you” meeting with the company.
It was also noted that while details on many of the talents WWE is attempting to bring in are being kept under wraps, Pillman was in plain sight of many other people on Thursday at the Performance Center.
Pillman has yet to make a public statement about his departure from AEW or his future plans.
