Big E has joined the growing number of wrestlers and fans hoping to see AJ Lee make a surprise return at this year’s WWE Royal Rumble.
Lee, who left WWE in 2015, has remained a fan-favorite, with speculation about a potential comeback gaining momentum. WWE interviewer Jackie Redmond previously expressed her excitement at the idea, believing Lee’s return would be a monumental moment.
During a recent Fanatics/WWE appearance, Big E was asked about the possibility of Lee entering the Royal Rumble. Bayley took the opportunity to poke fun at him over an infamous moment from Raw in 2013, when he accidentally hit Lee in the chest while making his entrance.
“We’re trying to move on, okay?” Big E joked. “That was like 13 years ago. It was very embarrassing for me… but she just smiled like it was nothing.”
Despite the lighthearted moment, Big E made it clear he would love to see Lee return.
“I would love to see AJ Lee in the Rumble,” he said. “I think the pop would be absurd. It would be very exciting.”
