WWE has laid the groundwork for a potential match between The Rock and Cody Rhodes, but only time will tell if things work out to the point where they wrestle in a singles match against each other.

Earlier this month, Rock teamed with Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the WWE WrestleMania 40 headliner on night one, and the heels won. The next night, Rhodes defeated Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. A number of people, including The Rock, got involved.

Moving on to the next night’s Raw, WWE teased Rock vs. Rhodes for a later date, which has been speculated to be scheduled for WrestleMania 41 next year.

While appearing on Good Morning Britain, Rhodes mentioned the possibility of another match with the future WWE Hall of Famer.

“I think it’ll really come down to can I be a good champion or a great champion. Roman Reigns was a great champion, and will that be enough to entice The Rock? That’s what happened here. Rock will tell you that he made wrestling cool again. Rock made wrestling cool maybe in the first place, but this run is a whole new generation, a whole new locker room. Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, myself, Rhea Ripley, all these people. I think the more we keep this, the better we do, the more chances it lures Rock back into the fray.”
