Veteran WWE Superstar John Cena could make an appearance at Payback.

According to a new report from WrestleVotes, there has been talk of having Cena work Saturday’s Payback event. Cena, on the other hand, would not be wrestling as he was planned to be the special guest host that night.

Cena will make his WWE TV debut on Friday’s SmackDown, which is the Payback go-home episode. Nothing has been confirmed as of this writing, but WWE could run an angle on SmackDown to set up the Payback guest hosting gig.

Cena is currently scheduled to work 9 announced WWE dates (listed below), excluding Payback. His return to the ring is scheduled for Friday, September 8 at the WWE Superstar Spectacular event in Hyderabad, India. Cena will team up with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to face Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium, the company announced this week.

Cena’s WWE run, which begins today, will include a new Make-A-Wish campaign. Cena, WWE, and Make-A-Wish will host children and their families in each of the eight American cities to attend a WWE event. Cena is the most-requested Wish Granter of all time, having granted over 650 Make-A-Wish wishes around the world.
