AEW star Shelton Benjamin didnโt hold back on Twitter/X when a fan claimed he lacked charisma and never connected with the audience during his WWE run. The conversation began after the fan suggested Benjaminโalongside Ricochet, Aleister Black, and Andradeโwas a talented wrestler who couldnโt get over, which contributed to him never becoming a world champion.
Benjamin clapped back with a sharp response:
โI donโt think youโre old enough to look back far enough so Iโll cut you some slack but Being over with the fans was the one thing Iโve never lacked.โ

When the fan followed up by saying, โYou was one of my favorite mid card wrestlers growing up I just never seen you as a world champion and thatโs okay lol,โ Benjamin replied:
โSo again, you were a fan, but also according to you I never got over with the Fans, you being among them. Being over & being champ are not synonymous. You not seeing me as champ material I can only respect, so can you answer my question now, we are all still waiting.โ

Benjaminโs comments struck a chord with many fans who recall his standout moments in WWEโfrom jaw-dropping performances in Money in the Bank matches to his classic with Shawn Michaels on Raw. While he was never positioned as a world champion, Benjamin was widely respected for his athleticism, versatility, and consistent crowd support.
Now part of AEW, Benjamin continues to prove why heโs still one of wrestlingโs most underrated veterans.
