Wardlow may have tried to be optimistic about a recent injury scare he experienced during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite match, in which he defeated Komander.
He was favoring his knee after a pair of drop kicks, but he finished the match. He began shaking his knee loose, but the concern didn’t arise until he powerbombed Komander at the end of the match, when his knee slightly gave out and the move appeared awkward.
He was seen muttering “f**k” and limping, his hands slamming against the ring steps. He did take to X (Twitter) to say he was fine.
Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Wardlow is not doing well.
Alvarez said, “Wardlow says he is fine. I have been told that it’s not fine.”
Dave Meltzer added, “I was told that he was hurt.”
Alvarez continued, “I was told he’s getting checked out tomorrow. They think it’s possibly a torn meniscus, but that he dodged a bullet, and it wasn’t much worse, and he’ll probably be alright. But he definitely is not fine. Something went wrong.”

A normal man’s knee would be ruined. I’m no normal man. I’m still coming for the heavyweight title. And there’s nothing and no one that can stop me. Knee is just fine ? #AEWDynamite
