Country music star Jelly Roll is set to make his WWE in-ring debut at this year’s SummerSlam premium live event. The confirmation follows the launch of his storyline with Logan Paul, which unfolded on the July 11th, 2025 edition of Friday Night SmackDown in Nashville.
Jelly Roll’s involvement in the angle has already included interactions with Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre, suggesting this celebrity crossover is being positioned as one of the marquee attractions for WWE’s biggest event of the summer.
Despite the hype, the decision to feature Jelly Roll in a WWE match has sparked mixed reactions online. One viral post from Twitter/X user @EliteClubS0B declared:
“NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS” — a statement that received nearly 9,000 likes and quickly gained traction within the wrestling community.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray weighed in on the controversy, strongly defending Jelly Roll’s right to be involved on the SummerSlam stage:
“Outside biz personalities have been involved w/ WWE since ‘Mania 1 and Mr. T… maybe before that. If you’re complaining about Jelly Roll, you’re ignorant or just don’t ‘get it.’”
Jelly Roll has previously expressed his lifelong love for WWE, and has reportedly been training for months in preparation for his in-ring debut. He joins the ranks of successful celebrity performers like Bad Bunny and Logan Paul, both of whom have earned praise for their commitment and performance inside the squared circle.
It’s still unclear whether Jelly Roll will team with a WWE star or compete in a singles match against Logan Paul. Either way, WWE is clearly betting big on this high-profile crossover to bring eyes to SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium this August.
