WWE Friday Night SmackDown takes place tonight, October 16, 2026, at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, with several major matches and segments announced for the show.
Among the highlights is a face-to-face confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, while Paige will face Nikki Bella and R-Truth will go one-on-one with Damian Priest.
WWE has also confirmed a new championship match, with Rey Fenix set to defend the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Ricky Saints.
Saints earned another opportunity at the title after pinning Fenix during a six-man tag team match on the October 2 episode of SmackDown. Teaming with The War Raiders against Fenix and Fraxiom, Saints made a blind tag before catching the champion off guard with Roshambo to secure the victory.
The rivalry continued last Friday when Saints issued a challenge to Fenix in a WWE digital exclusive, demanding another shot at the AAA Cruiserweight Championship.
Saints previously challenged Fenix for the championship last month but was unsuccessful. Tonight’s rematch will give him another opportunity to capture the title.
The updated lineup for tonight’s WWE SmackDown includes:
AAA Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) vs. Ricky Saints
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton face-to-face
Paige vs. Nikki Bella
R-Truth vs. Damian Priest
WWE SmackDown airs tonight at 8/7c from Sacramento, California.
