The latest episode of WWE SmackDown saw lower-than-expected ratings.
According to Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics, the show averaged 2.097 million viewers on FOX, down from 2.248 million viewers last week.
The show received a 0.55 rating in the crucial 18-49 demographic, down from a 0.62 rating a week ago.
The show featured Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair, Austin Theory vs. Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles vs. Karrion Kross, and Roman Reigns’ Hail to the Chief segment with Jimmy Uso.
SmackDown was the SummerSlam fallout edition. It should be noted that SmackDown was preempted in some markets for NFL preseason, causing the show to air outside of its normal timeslot or network.
Last year, the show drew 1.927 million viewers and a 0.44 demo rating in the 18-49 demographic.
