Jim Ross thinks highly of Andrade El Idolo.
On the latest episode of his official podcast, “Grilling J.R.,” the WWE Hall of Fame legend and AEW broadcast team member shared his thoughts on the talents of El Idolo, as well as his decision to part ways with AEW and return to WWE.
“We havenโt seen his ceiling yet, in my opinion,” Ross said of El Idolo. “The guyโs really good, and losing him is unfortunate for AEW because he always gave quality work. A very skilled guy. If I was guessing, and thatโs something weโre doing here because I donโt have any clue as to what his future holds, Iโd say itโs WWE. Theyโre always looking for quality talents, Andrade is a quality talent and certainly has earned his opportunities to move up the cards, whatever company heโs working with. Heโs a main-event skillset guy, no matter what. But if I were a betting man, I would certainly lean toward Andrade to be a WWE guy sooner than later. Theyโre doing a lot of nice things with their Latin athletes. He fits the bill there very well. Iโm a fan of his work, and Iโm sorry to see him leave, but he fulfilled all his obligations and did a hell of a job for us. Heโs a keeper, no doubt about it.”
He continued, “So Iโm thinking if WWE, like they have been, thatโs a layup, I think. Itโs just really good in that regard. So weโll see how it works out. Quality talents always rise to the top. If youโre good enough, youโre gonna get noticed in the right way, and I think Andrade used AEW to get notice and to continue to develop his work. So Iโm happy for him and Charlotte. Maybe theyโre gonna be able to spend some additional time together because of her injury. So good for him. Heโs a good guy, heโs a classy guy. Good worker, and Iโm glad that he was here for a while. He helped the company, and thatโs what youโre looking for.”
