A Canadian man has been federally indicted in the United States following a disturbing incident involving WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan. According to a recently unsealed FBI affidavit obtained by The Independent, 41-year-old Shawn Chan of Scarborough, Ontario, is facing one count of interstate stalking after allegedly attempting to break into Morgan’s Florida residence while she was home.
The incident unfolded on May 31, just days after Chan reportedly flew from Canada to Orlando, telling U.S. Customs agents that he planned to stay at the WWE Performance Center — a facility that offers no accommodations. Surveillance footage from Morgan’s home shows Chan circling her property, repeatedly trying the front door handle, and searching for a key.
According to authorities, Chan discovered a Sig Sauer MCX .177 caliber air rifle left on Morgan’s porch, capable of firing metal pellets at high velocity. He was seen sitting with the weapon for a period of time before returning to the front door. After lingering at the property for more than two hours, Chan allegedly left a handwritten note containing his home address and phone number. The message referred to a grievance involving an online gaming community and stated, “I came here to pay just a friendly visit, nothing more… Yea, I just wanted to let you know that I was here.”
Just days later, on June 3, Chan showed up at the WWE Performance Center — where Liv Morgan was present for a taping. Security staff, already briefed with images from the home surveillance footage, quickly identified Chan and contacted law enforcement. He was taken into custody by deputies on-site.
A search of Chan at the time of his arrest reportedly uncovered two bottles of liquid, which he described as “medicines,” including one intended for treating bleeding injuries. Morgan later confirmed to investigators that she did not know the man and expressed concern over how her private address had become accessible. She also noted that two other unknown individuals had previously attempted to visit her home.
Chan was formally indicted on one federal count of interstate domestic violence, a charge which could result in up to five years in prison if convicted. He is currently being held at the Pasco County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in federal court in Orlando on July 18 for his arraignment.
