Chelsea Green’s career in WWE has been plagued by bad luck, with injuries often striking just as she seems ready to reach the next level. Recently, Green broke her orbital bone during a match on SmackDown, where she teamed up with WWE Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton against WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence.
Bryan Alvarez, who reported the injury initially, provided more details during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He explained that Green sustained the injury while taking a double-team finishing move from Henley and Reid, during which Reid accidentally landed on Green’s head.
At this time, there is no update regarding how long Green might be sidelined or whether she will need to vacate the WWE Women’s Championship. Alvarez also noted that Henley and Reid’s finisher is not well-liked in the industry, with many in the business saying it is not a suitable finishing move.
Following the incident, various theories surfaced online about the cause of the injury, with some blaming Nia Jax. Regardless of the speculation, Green ended up with a noticeable bruise under her eye. Further updates will be shared as more information becomes available, including the severity of her injury and whether she will need to take time off.
