Several competitors from WWE LFG are beginning to make the transition to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, with Drake Morreaux becoming the latest talent from the series to surface in the promotion.
This week’s episode of AAA on Fox featured a mystery masked wrestler emerging from the crowd and attacking Psycho Clown during his Triple Threat Match against El Fiscal and Cruz Del Toro.
Although the attacker was not identified during the broadcast, PWInsider.com and other sources have since confirmed that the wrestler behind the mask was Morreaux.
Morreaux has regularly appeared on *WWE LFG* and already has experience within the WWE system, including appearances for EVOLVE and NXT Level Up. He also trained under WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker during The Deadman’s stint as a coach on *LFG*.
Morreaux isn’t the only Undertaker-trained *LFG* prospect making the move to AAA.
During the August 9th episode of *WWE LFG*, WWE Hall of Famer and NXT executive Shawn Michaels informed Elijah Holyfield that he would soon be heading to AAA, where he will reunite with his former mentor, The Undertaker.
Holyfield, the son of legendary heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield, was described by Michaels as a highly valued prospect who now has an opportunity to demonstrate his potential on a bigger stage.
Michaels told Holyfield:
> “I think, coming in the door, you were a very valued prospect to us. I’m sure, maybe from your perspective, it has been a while. Maybe you’ve had some setbacks with the injury, but an opportunity has arisen for us to get you into the game.”
Michaels then revealed that Holyfield would be heading to AAA and specifically mentioned his reunion with The Undertaker.
> “You are going to have the opportunity to go down to AAA and show the world who Elijah Holyfield truly is. You’ll be meeting up with your old trainer, The Undertaker. The possibilities down there are going to be unlimited for you. Congratulations, and thank you very much for always giving it your best.”
Holyfield signed with WWE in November 2024 and competed during the first season of *LFG*. He wrestled his first NXT live event match in February before making his EVOLVE debut against Kai Kavari on May 1.
While Morreaux has now made his first appearance in AAA, it remains unclear when Holyfield will officially debut for the promotion.
The developments involving Morreaux and Holyfield come as multiple competitors who have appeared across the three seasons of *WWE LFG* begin receiving opportunities in AAA, providing another pathway for developing WWE talent to gain experience outside the traditional NXT system.
