Top WWE star and 2025 Menโ€™s Royal Rumble Match winner โ€œMain Eventโ€ Jey Uso appeared on the Nightcap podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco to discuss various topics, including when he feels the โ€œYEETโ€ movement really started to take off.

Uso said, โ€œlf you really pay attention, me, my brothers, Roman [Reigns], weโ€™ve kind of been saying that from the jump. If you look at old promos or whatever, uce, youโ€™ll hear it. โ€˜Yeet. Yeet.โ€™ Itโ€™s also a west coast slang. Itโ€™s been a slangโ€ฆIโ€™m a little older than the little homies, [theyโ€™re] like, โ€˜Oh, thatโ€™s a meme, a catchphrase where youโ€™re yeeting people.โ€™ But itโ€™s been a slang. The โ€˜tโ€™ wasnโ€™t even on there. It used to be โ€˜yeeโ€™, like y-e-e-e. Man, I didnโ€™t expect it to take off, though, like that. It just took off. I feel like it took off at the press conference. If you watch the press conference, you know. Then I had Cody saying โ€˜yeet,โ€™ and then it just took off. I think that was a turning point. But I never thought it would take off the way it do.โ€
