RVD Believes WWE Didn’t Want Hardcore Title To Be As Meaningful As He Made It

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam (RVD) recently appeared on an episode of his โ€œ1 Of A Kindโ€ podcast, where he discussed a number of topics including his run as Hardcore Champion and how he believes he made the title mean more than the company wanted it to.

RVD said, โ€œFor sure, I made that belt mean way more than they ever wanted it to. Thatโ€™s why they got rid of it.โ€

On wrestling Jeff Hardy:

โ€œI love wrestling him, but it seems like every single match it seemed like I always won. Like, over and over, and I always wondered, โ€˜Is that the right way to do things? Like, should we throw him a bone? I mean, heโ€™s Jeff Hardy. Heโ€™s not like,โ€™ you know. I mean we had great matches, but I donโ€™t remember it ever being the other way around. And I was โ€” I donโ€™t know, [I] start getting personal thoughts, like, wondering how Jeff feels about that and this and that.โ€
