FATP: Chris Jericho’s WWE Return

Phew. This is gonna be tough. I have something to admit to all of you about Chris Jericho’s WWE return. My name’s George, I’m 31 years old and for most of the last 15 years, I’ve been…a Jerichoholic. It’s an addiction, and a serious one at that. I hope that you’ll all support me as I try to recover from my latest relapse. All joking aside, I’m a self-confessed Jerichoholic. Have been since the moment he debuted on Raw in 1999, interrupted The Rock and turned Raw is War intoRead More
WWE has emerged victorious. In it’s battle against CM Punk they have looked every bit the victor as Punk has looked indifferent. While we may never know what led to Punk walking out before Wrestlemania season like Bad News Brown in a Survivor Series match, we definitely saw how WWE has moved forward without him. In the court of public opinion, and pages of the IWC, WWE was slandered by CM Punk fans for everything, while knowing nothing. Punk was defended better than the Denver Broncos in this years Superbowl,Read More
For me he’s been one of the best things about the wrestling business over the past few years, a Chicago native who can grapple with the best technicians and punch it out with the best brawlers. He’s also one of the nicest guys I ever met during my time in the business. Now we’re going to take a look at Ring of Honor’s most recent tribute to the man, someone who has given us plenty of good times and great memories. The man in question is Colt Cabana, and theRead More
There’s one thing that keeps the world of professional wrestling going, and that’s the rivalries. For decades fans have watched show after show to see how these rivalries develop, and how they will ultimately end. Now the good people at WWE have dipped into their ever-growing video archive to bring us a list of the biggest rivalries ever, with the three disc set entitled The Top 25 Rivalries in Wrestling History. As is the custom with these reviews let’s start at the very beginning with….. Disc One – The DocumentaryRead More
By any calculation, Wrestling has a prestigious history. Looking back at certain times, one can trace points where something happened that changed the direction of the industry. The question “what if”, can be applied to just about every walk of life. What if Jordan never retired in the 1990’s? What if Tupac and Biggie were still alive? What if you didn’t drink everything in sight that one night? It’s one of the best questions to ask yourself, because you’ll never really know the answer. Wrestling is no different. Whether throughRead More

FATP: WrestleMania 30 Fallout

After an indefinite hiatus, welcome along to the latest edition of FATP. Sorry it’s taken so long to put fingers to keys! WWE’s landmark 30th WrestleMania event is now consigned to the history books, and a whole hell of a lot has happened over the last seven days in particular, so (in no particular order) here’s my take on the biggest stories of the week. This might become a regular thing. I’m not sure. I’ll see how it goes. Daniel Bryan Crowned the New WWE World Heavyweight Champion After whatRead More

The Two Sheds Review: Samoa Joe: A Championship Legacy

It’s time to step into Ring of Honor territory once again as we take a look at the two disc compilation dedicated to the man who truly defined what it meant to be a champion. The release in question is Samoa Joe: A Championship Legacy. As is the way with these things we begin with….. Disc One March 13th, 2003 With the #1 Contender’s Trophy up for grabs, our man faces Homicide, E.Z. Money and B.J. Whitmer in a four corners match at Expect the Unexpected. Fast paced action wasRead More
No stalling. How about we tackle a few topics today? TNA Impact Wrestling Yes, I will be watching this Thursday (tonight). No, I will not be live tweeting. Still have not hit 500 Twitter followers! be on the look out for thoughts on Impact later this week. WWE Stock Soars! Oh look, the WWE stock price went up another 13% on Tuesday. More on Wednesday! Great job ‘taking over’ and trying to hijack Raw. Sure did make a difference folks. Boy, that sold out arena looked great in Chicago. WonderfulRead More
Here we go… TNA Lockdown Ticket Sales? Sure, how about a little TNA to start us off? Word on the street is that Lockdown has sold around 1,000 tickets so far for the pay-per-view event next Sunday night. Not too surprising, if true. Unless the company has some huge play coming in the next few days, be on the look out for more “empty arena pictures” next Sunday night to surface online. You would think with MVP being in a big spot, the show would do well in Miami…but nope.Read More

Death of Wrestling: Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H

Greetings to all… It’s David Davis with my weekly blog: Death of Wrestling. For all of those who read this regularly, you will know that this is not a blog about bashing wrestling; it’s a blog of a frustrated fan, who loves the business and wishes that each week it could be a little better. So I wondered what it’d take to make the YES MOVEMENT die… and to say it’s died is a bit premature, I know, but watching Monday’s Raw made me realise that it’s not as strongRead More
Bunch of stuff to discuss before Sunday. My Elimination Chamber predictions should be posted over the weekend. WWE Battleground 2013 Just one quick note: Battleground did a near record low pay-per-view buy rate last October. Not to brag, but I called it! That event never stood a chance, and it was easy to predict a total failure was coming in terms of PPV buys. WWE made up for it three weeks later with Heck on a Deck, so maybe their plan paid off? About 342,000 PPV buys through entire theRead More
Here is a quick rundown. I will reply to a few emails, a few comments, a few tweets, and discuss a few other topics for today. That is the word of the day: FEW! Everybody ready? Without any more stalling, I will let the comments kick us off… From Jimi: hey justin. I just read on the Internet page that hogan is coming to wwe? Is that true? What can he do? He’s broken down? I like hulk but the past injuries he surely isn’t wrestling he never did atRead More
CM Punk
How about we dive right into a few topics? Live Events… One of my favorite things to do online throughout the “IWC” is read fan reports from live events, television tapings, or even pay-per-view events. It gives everybody a personal look inside the mind of a wrestling fan, as well as any story or anecdote. Fun. For those who have been keeping track, the chants for CM Punk are slowly dying down as time goes by. Now, this could be for one of two reasons. Honestly, I credit BOTH reasons.Read More

Death of Wrestling: Batista

Greetings to all… It’s David Davis with my weekly blog: Death of Wrestling. For all of those who read this regularly, you will know that this is not a blog about bashing wrestling; it’s a blog of a frustrated fan, who loves the business and wishes that each week it could be a little better. So I said to my brother in law that if Batista wins the Rumble then I’m going to stop watching wrestling… Batista won the Rumble and in all honesty, I’ve kind of stopped watching wrestling…Read More

I am back. Instead of wasting time with an introduction, how about we just dive into things? WWE Smackdown The Blue Brand just ended their Friday night episode. Wow! Folks, this show has drawn over three million viewers for three straight weeks. What we saw this week is the reason why. The Shield had a ten minute opening six person tag. Jack Swagger won a very entertaining eight minute fatal four way match to become the #1 contender for the IC Championship. There was a ten minute eight person tag.Read More
Speculation has started regarding if CM Punk will be a playable character in WWE’s upcoming WWE 2K15 video game for PS4 and Xbox One. Typically, 2K Games sets the roster of playable characters on the day after the biggest annual sporting event for a company. Since Punk will apparently not be part of the company at WrestleMania, coupled with the fact that his contract actually runs out in July, it is difficult to determine whether or not he will be included as a character by default. You can view someRead More

From Across The Pond: WWE & TNA Q&A

It’s that time again. Yup, thanks to my self-imposed hiatus from all things WWE and TNA, I wanted to write a column, but had no idea what to write about. That’s where you fine people came in! You supplied the questions and I’m set to fire through them with my answer gun. I got plenty of questions from Facebook and Twitter, as well as by e-mail. Some of them are serious, some of them are more sarcastic. You should be able to tell them apart, but be warned! This article’sRead More
Everybody getting excited for the WWE Network? I know I am. After years and years of doubting this entire project would start up, it is almost here. Right or wrong, the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view has become secondary in importance. The night AFTER is going to be beyond epic. Taking place from Green Bay, Wisconsin (I am from WI) only adds to the excitement. With that little introduction out of the way, how about we tackle a few topics for today? WWE Smackdown Ratings Continue Rising A lot of folks alwaysRead More
